Patel Engg-led consortium bags Rs 300-cr order

A consortium led by construction company, Patel Engineering, has bagged a Rs 300-crore transmission project associated with the Krishnapattanam Ultra Mega Power Plant.

The consortium, which also includes BS TransComm and Simplex Infrastructure, will be establishing a 210 km, 765 kv transmission system from Raichur to Solapur and would be operating it for 35-years after completion. Bagging the contract from REC Transmission Project Company through a tariff-based competitive bidding on build-operate-own-maintain (BOOM) basis also marks Patel Engineering foray into independent power transmission.
