Larsen & Toubro has bagged a Rs 716-crore infrastructure contract from the Department of Transport, Abu Dhabi, for the construction of ‘Sheikh Khalifa Interchange'. The site is 75 km from Abu Dhabi on and intersects Abu Dhabi–Dubai main road linking the two emirates. The contract is scheduled for completion in 24 months.

The project involves construction of four bridges with multi-spans and a 62-metre long, 20-metre wide tunnel, besides 12 km of 4-6 lane roads.The project is expected to significantly improve traffic conditions in the Al Samha region, especially the truck traffic from the new Sheikh Khalifa port.crackcrack
