Suzlon soars as its group’s subsidiary wins 20MW UK projects

Suzlon is currently trading at Rs. 30.00, up by 0.80 points or 2.74% from its previous closing of Rs. 29.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 29.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 30.75 and Rs. 29.45 respectively. So far 7936788 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 58.45 on 21-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 17.25 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 30.75 and Rs. 27.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5314.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.76% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.38% and 33.70% respectively. 

Suzlon Group-subsidiary, REpower Systems SE, has signed contracts to supply wind turbines for two wind farms in England - Armistead and Carsington Pasture. Armistead wind farm in South Cumbria is owned by Banks Renewables, and will see six REpower MM82 machines installed. Carsington Pasture wind farm is owned by independent power generation company, International Power, and will consist of four MM82 wind turbines. The MM82 turbines have a rated output of 2.05 MW each.

Armistead wind farm will have a rated output of 12 megawatts (MW) and will generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of nearly 7,000 homes annually. The four turbines at 8.2 MW Carsington wind farm will in total generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of at least 4,500 homes annually. Construction is due to start in summer 2012 for Carsington Pasture. Both Armistead and Carsington Pasture are expected to be completed in early 2013.
