-400.85 (-2.75%) Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), India’s leading passenger vehicle manufacturer, has reportedly started taking bookings for its new passenger car, the Vitara Brezza. Potential buyers can book Maruti Suzuki’s new compact SUV for a token sum of Rs 21,000 ahead of its launch in March. The Vitara Brezza packs a 1.3-litre four-cylinder, Multi-jet engine capable of churning out 88.7 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki uses the same mill on the Ertiga also. The Vitara Brezza will get a five-speed manual transmission.
Maruti Suzuki India, country’s largest car maker, has registered a fall of 2.6% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of January 2016 at 113,606 units, as against 116,606 units in 2015. The company’s domestic sales rose by 0.8% in January 2016 at 106,383 units, as against 105,559 units in corresponding month last year.
