11.65 (2.62%) In order to bolster its workforce, Coal India (CIL), the world’s largest coal miner by output, is reportedly planning to hire 1,000 people this year. The hiring would be in various divisions including finance, marketing and sales. CIL, which accounts for over 80 per cent of the domestic coal production, has a workforce of over 300,000. Earlier, the company had missed the production target for 2014-15 by 3%, recording an output of 494.23 MT.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
