IDEA Cellular gains on expanding 3G services in Kerala

IDEA Cellular is currently trading at Rs. 99.30, up by 0.30 points or 0.30% from its previous closing of Rs. 99.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 99.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 100.20 and Rs. 98.25 respectively. So far 146190 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 103.65 on 06-Sep-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 60.10 on 17-Mar-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 100.40 and Rs. 94.45 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 32769.20 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 45.98% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.99% and 33.03% respectively. 

IDEA Cellular has expanded its 3G services in Kerala, with the launch in Idukki district, including the towns in high ranges. The towns include Adimali, Munnar, Kattapana, Thekkady, Mayiladumpara, Anakara, Cheruthony, Kumily, Thadiyampadu and Nedumkandam.

The company continues to be the No.1 3G service provider in Kerala with over 73 lakh subscribers including 13 lakh 3G subscribers and 1,700 3G cell sites. It has now strengthened its leadership position both in terms of revenue and customer market share. Idea is the highest penetrated mobile network in the circle, reaching out to over 97 per cent of the population.

Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level; it is present in all 22 telecom circles.
