Tata Power’s TPDDL inks MoU with UCLA

Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL), a joint venture (JV) of Tata Power and the Government of Delhi, and researchers at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) have reached an agreement to develop advanced technologies for delivering energy more efficiently, less expensively and to more people in India and developing countries. The Smart grid work to be done between TPDDL and UCLA will provide state of the art, cost effective solutions of integrating roof top solar with energy storage and demand response to meet the power requirement of the country. This collaboration is a vital step towards bringing innovative and cost-effective energy solutions to large sections of society in India and the developing world. TPDDL and the Smart Grid Energy Research Center at UCLA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on January 29, 2016.

Tata Power is India’s largest integrated power company with a growing international presence. The Company together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities has an installed gross generation capacity of [9100] MW and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. Fuel Security and Logistics, Generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), Transmission, Distribution and Trading.
