11.65 (2.62%) Coal India (CIL) has reported a growth of 9.2% in coal production at 477.31 million tonnes (mt) for the first 11 months of this fiscal against the same period last year. The company’s offtake grew by 9.3% to 483.14 mt during the period.
Railway despatches grew by a significant 9.6%, with CIL loading around 211 rakes per day. The daily average is up by nearly 19 rakes (goods train) compared to the same period last year.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
