Vijaya Bank gains on receiving nod to raise up to Rs 226 crore

Vijaya Bank is currently trading at Rs. 33.50, up by 0.50 points or 1.52% from its previous closing of Rs. 33.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 34.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 34.00 and Rs. 33.50 respectively. So far 15,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 48.70 on 15-Apr-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 28.70 on 18-Jan-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 34.00 and Rs. 30.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,886.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.06% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 10.86% and 15.08% respectively.

Vijaya Bank has received an approval for preferential issue of equity shares to Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) aggregating up to Rs 226 crore (inclusive of premium amount). The board of directors at its meeting held on March 03, 2016 has approved for the same.

Vijaya Bank offers various products and services specific to various segments such as it has saving accounts for children, scheme for women clientele, credit facilities to minority communities like Zoroastrians, Buddhists are among others.
