NTPC has commissioned the Unit-I of 250 MW of Nabinagar Thermal Power Station of Bhartiya Rail Bijlee company ( a subsidiary company of NTPC) on March 20, 2016. With this, the total installed capacity of Nabinagar Thermal Power Station has become 250 MW and the total installed capacity of NTPC group has become 45798 MW.

NTPC (formerly National Thermal Power Corporation) is engaged in generating power. Its services include consultancy, power management institute and research and development center. It offers services in engineering, project and construction management, operation and maintenance of power generating plants and consultancy services to power utility sectors. The firm also1 provides oil and gas exploration and coal mining activities.
