Tata Motors surges as Group’s February global wholesales jumps 24%

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs. 288.75, up by 2.05 points or 0.72% from its previous closing of Rs. 286.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 287.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 292.40 and Rs. 286.70 respectively. So far 437242 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 297.25 on 16-Mar-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 137.65 on 13-Sep-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 297.25 and Rs. 277.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 77820.72 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 35.04% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.91% and 8.95% respectively.

Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were at 127,318 in February 2012, higher by 24% over February 2011. The cumulative sales for the fiscal were 1,112,518, higher by 15% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11.

Global sales of all commercial vehicles - Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range -- were 57,857 in February 2012, highest ever in a month and a growth of 24%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 536,136, a growth of 18%. Also, global sales of all passenger vehicles were at 69,461 in February 2012, higher by 25%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 576,382 higher by 11%.

Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution off-take in India of Fiat cars were at 37,204 for the month, higher by 9% over February 2011. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are at 298,420.

Besides, Global sales of Jaguar Land Rover in February 2012 were at 32,257 vehicles, higher by 49% over February 2011, driven by the Range Rover Evoque and the 12MY Jaguar product. Jaguar sales for the month were 4,228 higher by 32%, while Land Rover sales were 28,029, best ever in a month and higher by 52%. Cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal are 277,962, higher by 27%. Cumulative sales of Jaguar are 48,696, lower by 1%, while cumulative sales of Land Rover are 229,266, higher by 35%.
