Power Grid gains on getting nod for investment proposals worth Rs 3,324 crore

Power Grid Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 139.60, up by 1.00 points or 0.72% from its previous closing of Rs. 138.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 140.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 140.00 and Rs. 138.80 respectively. So far 31818 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 155.70 on 13-Apr-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 120.75 on 10-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 140.20 and Rs. 137.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 73059.15 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.90 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.82 % and 7.29 % respectively.

Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) has received its board’s approval for investment proposals worth Rs 3,324 crore, including Rs 844.64 crore generation projects in Odisha and Rs 810.48 crore solar park in Karnataka. The board has accorded approval to several projects including investment approval for substation extensions for transmission system associated with Vindhyachal V project of NTPC at an estimated cost of Rs 287.99 crore.

The board has also approved investment of Rs 46.57 crore in projects associated with Western Region Strengthening Scheme, Rs 47.77 crore investment in transmission system for Gadarwara STPS of NTPC and Rs 40.91 crore in transmission system for ultra mega solar park in Anantpur district in Andhra Pradesh.

The board also gave investment approval for associated transmission system for Nabinagar 11 TPS (3X660 MW) at an estimated cost of Rs 790.13 crore with commissioning schedule of 38 months progressively from date of investment approval.

The other proposal approved by the board include eastern region strengthening scheme at a cost of Rs 454.11 crore.
