National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Jamshedpur for collaborative research and mutual cooperation between NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA) and NML. Through this MoU, both the organizations can synergies their efforts in taking forward their expertise and knowledge for offering effective solutions to power plant problems.

The priority areas identified for joint working and co-operation are damage & health assessment of power plant components through advanced non-destructive testing (NDT), failure investigation, corrosion, development of special purpose coating materials, support for strengthening lab facilities and sharing of expertise.

The MoU was signed by Executive Director, NETRA- the Research Wing of NTPC and Principal Scientist & Head, Business Development & Monitoring of NML in presence of Director (Technical), ED (Corp. Planning) and other senior officials from NTPC & NML.
