Bharti Airtel rings loud on plan to buy Aircel’s airwaves in 8 circles for Rs 3,500 crore

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs. 343.70, up by 9.40 points or 2.81% from its previous closing of Rs. 334.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 342.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 345.40 and Rs. 341.00 respectively. So far 53346 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 452.45 on 21-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 282.30 on 29-Jan-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 350.60 and Rs. 325.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 133633.09 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 65.62% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.40% and 8.93% respectively.

Bharti Airtel and its subsidiary, Bharti Hexacom have entered into a definitive agreement with Aircel and its subsidiaries Dishnet Wireless and Aircel Cellular to acquire rights to use 20 MHz of 2300 band 4G spectrum for eight circles for an aggregate consideration of Rs 3,500 crore.

The eight circles are Tamil Nadu (including Chennai), Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Assam, North East, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. The spectrum is valid till September 20, 2030. With this acquisition, the company will become pan India 4G operator.
