Asian Paints moves up on the bourses

Asian Paints is currently trading at Rs. 3070.00, up by 7.65 points or 0.25% from its previous closing of Rs. 3062.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 3072.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3105.65 and Rs. 3069.00 respectively. So far 2219 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3365.95 on 04-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2462.05 on 11-Apr-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 3299.00 and Rs. 3006.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 29634.42 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.79% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.58% and 20.63% respectively.

Asian Paints has restarted the production activities at its plant, located at Rohtak, Haryana as on March 16, 2012. However, the company would be commissioning the new equipment in April 2012, at the same plant, in order to enhance the capacity of its plant to 200000 KL per annum.

The company planned a shutdown of its plant at Rohtak, Haryana from February 16, 2012 to March 15, 2012 in order that certain activities connected with the expansion of the plant can be carried out. During the shutdown, new equipment was to be commissioned and integrated with the existing systems.
