The Government of Maharashtra has granted mining lease for over 53.75 hectare in village Parsoda, Tehsil Ramtek, Nagpur district in favour of MOIL. The said lease has been executed and registered by the company. The company had last year in August received environmental clearance from Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change for opening a new mine in Nagpur.
MOIL is the largest iron ore company in India and fifth largest in world. It currently operates seven underground mines (Kandri, Munsar, Beldongri, Gumgaon, Chikla, Balaghat and Ukwa mines) and three opencast mines (Dongri Buzurg, Sitapatore/Sukli, and Tirodi).
