Coal India gains on inking Joint Venture Agreement with NTPC

Coal India is currently trading at Rs 284.00, up by 1.15 points or 0.41% from its previous closing of Rs 282.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 283.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs 284.85 and Rs 281.75 respectively. So far 546908 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 447.25 on 05-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 272.05 on 12-Apr-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 285.00 and Rs. 276.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 179384.75 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 79.65% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.14% and 3.21% respectively.

Coal India, the world’s largest coal miner by output, has signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JV) with NTPC for setting up of a Joint Venture Company at 50:50 shareholding basis for revival of Sindhri & Gorakhpur units of Fertiliser Corporation of India.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
