M&M trades in green on the bourses

Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) is currently trading at Rs. 1357.90, up by 3.30 points or 0.24% from its previous closing of Rs. 1354.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1355.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1364.30 and Rs. 1350.05 respectively. So far 1,614 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1441.45 on 07-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1092.00 on 12-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1404.50 and Rs. 1337.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 84,425.09 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 25.44%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 55.47% and 13.53% respectively.

Mahindra and Mahindra’s (M&M) truck and buses division is reportedly aiming to double its market share in the heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) space in the coming two years, besides strengthening its buses business. Moreover, in short span of time the company is planning to enter the intermediate CV (ICV) space, a category it is absent in. In this regards, the company is putting aside Rs 700 crore.

The ICV space comprises trucks midway between heavy tonnage and light ones. The majority of the allotted investment will be pumped in the second year of the project in its 700-acre factory, a new one, at Chakan near Pune in Maharashtra, which has an installed capacity of 50,000 vehicles a year on a three- shift basis.
