Power Grid Corporation Of India Ltd.

Power Grid Corporation of India’s six projects has bagged the prestigious National Awards for Meritorious Performance in Power Sector instituted by the Government of India for the year 2009-10 and 2010-11. The company received three Gold Shields and two Silver Shields for Transmission System Availability and one Silver Shield for Early Completion of Transmission Project.

The Union Minister of Power presented the awards to CMD of the company at a function held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on March 22, 2012.

As many as 26 organizations including generating companies and transmission companies from public sector, private sector and state utilities were honoured on the occasion for excellent performance shown by them in their respective areas during the period mentioned above.

National Awards to power utilities for meritorious performance have been instituted by the Ministry of Power, Government of India to inculcate competitive spirit and to motivate the power utilities to achieve higher levels of performance.
