The export of soybean meal and its other value added products during July 2016 stood at 12,272 tons compared to 30,688 tons in July 2015 showing a decrease of 60% over the same period of last year. According to data compiled by Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA), on a financial year basis, the export during April 2016 to July 2016 stood at 52,906 tons as compared to 1,36,897 tons in the same period of previous year showing a decrease of 61%.
During current oil year (October - September period), total exports during October 2015 to July, 2016 stood at 238,676 tons as against 686,525 tons last year, showing a decrease by 65.23%.
Separately, as per data received from Director, Directorate of Oilseeds Development, Hyderabad, the sowing of Soybean in Madhya Pradesh stood at 52.580 lakh hectare, in Maharashtra at 36.806 lakh hectare and in Rajasthan at 10.248 lakh hectare as on July 28, 2016, which was 55.460 lakh hectare, 32.198 lakh hectare and 10.661 lakh hectare respectively on same date last year.
