Power Grid surges on reporting 33% jump in Q1 net profit

Power Grid Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 180.95, up by 3.05 points or 1.71% from its previous closing of Rs. 177.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 179.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 183.05 and Rs. 178.80 respectively. So far 547683 shares were traded on the counter.

Power Grid Corporation of India has reported 32.91% rise in its net profit at Rs 1801.77 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 1355.64 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The company’s total income increased by 30.61% to Rs 6259.30 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 4792.38 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
