ICICI Bank eyes 50 lakh transactions via voice recognition service: Report

ICICI Bank is reportedly aiming to conduct 50 lakh transactions via voice recognition service by the end of FY17. The bank, which had launched the voice recognition service in May last year, has brought 32 lakh customers under this facility and aiming to add another 10 lakh customers by next March.

The bank has deployed voice recognition technology that verifies a caller's identity through natural conversation by analysing over 100 characteristics including voice modulation, speed, accent and pronunciation.

ICICI Bank is the most comprehensive player in the Indian mobile banking industry. It is the numero uno bank in FY16 with close to Rs 1 trillion worth of transactions in mobile banking. It was the first bank to launch a mobile banking application in India, iMobile in 2008.
