NTPC gains on commissioning Unit-I of 500 MW of Mouda Super Thermal Power Project

NTPC is currently trading at Rs. 167.90, up by 0.05 points or 0.03% from its previous closing of Rs. 167.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 166.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 169.20 and Rs. 166.60 respectively. So far 49417 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 192.30 on 08-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 152.00 on 23-Nov-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 169.55 and Rs. 164.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 138565.03 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 84.50% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 11.67% and 3.83% respectively.

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has commissioned Unit-I of 500 MW of Mouda Super Thermal Power Project. With this, the total capacity of NTPC group has become 37,514 MW.

Recently, the company’s thermal power plant’s bunker of the sixth unit at Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district collapsed halting power generation from the unit. The bunker utilized for storage of coal for combustion in boiler furnace collapsed following technical snag, forcing suspension of power generation from the unit with 500-MW capacity.
