UK MHRA completes inspection of Wockhardt’s Chikalthana plant

UK health regulator -- UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) -- has completed inspection of Wockhardt’s Chikalthana plant at Aurangabad in Maharashtra without making any critical observations.

The inspection of the company’s manufacturing unit at L-1, Chikalthana, Aurangabad in Maharashtra by UK MHRA has since been completed without any critical observations and the approval status of the said unit continues.

In December 2015, Wockhardt had received a good manufacturing practice (GMP) certificate from the UK health regulator for its Chikalthana plant after an inspection.

Wockhardt is one of the few companies with end to end integrated capabilities for its products, starting with the manufacture of the oral and sterile API’s, the dose forms and marketing through wholly owned subsidiary in the US, enabling the company to capture maximum value.
