United Spirits has acquired the remaining equity shares in Sovereign Distilleries (SDL) pursuant to which SDL has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

SDL is an unlisted public company, engaged in the manufacture and sale of Extra Neutral Alcohol and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).

United Spirits is the largest spirits company in India and a flagship entity of $2 billion UB group. It manufactures wide range of whisky, vodka, rum and other spirits.
