India Natural Rubber production increases in July-August period

India natural rubber production has gone up 10% during July and 20% during August, as per the data compiled by the Rubber Board. The production rise is considered as the result of initiatives taken in arresting the slide in Natural Rubber (NR) production.

The production of Natural Rubber during the fiscal will reach the anticipated 6.54 lakh tons if the trend continues. The increasing trend in Natural Rubber production is noticed from May 2016 onwards.

During the last few years there was a fall in the Natural Rubber production due to climate change and shortage of tapper. The Rubber board is now on an intensive campaign to overcome these hurdles and also to increase production to tide over the price crisis.
