M&M trades in green on the bourses

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is currently trading at Rs. 725.00, up by 18.75 points or 2.65% from its previous closing of Rs. 706.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 710.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 727.50 and Rs. 704.30 respectively. So far 1, 85,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 874.75 on 28-Oct-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 617.00 on 20-Jun-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 727.50 and Rs. 679.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 44,513 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 25.26% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 47.21% and 21.95% respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s (M&M) flagship sports utility vehicle (SUV) Bolero has crossed the landmark sales of one-lakh mark in the last fiscal. The company has achieved sales of 100,686 units in the previous financial year as against 83,112 in FY 2010-11. Besides, the vehicle has also registered its highest ever annual sales since inception. It has also clocked its highest-ever monthly sales at 10,026 units in March.

In August 2000, the company had launched the vehicle and further upgraded the Bolero and rolled out its spanking new version with a new engine, interiors and exterior facelift last September. All these achievements have helped the Bolero notch up the seventh position among the top selling passenger vehicles in India in the last fiscal moving up from ninth in FY11. Significantly, Bolero is the only SUV to feature among the top 10 selling passenger vehicles in India.

Recently, M&M was planning to merge its research and development (R&D) units in the country under the newly-launched Mahindra Research Valley. The company has three R&D units in the country.
