Tata Steel wins Sustainable Manufacturing award

Tata Steel, the country’s leading steel producer, has been conferred with the ‘Sustainable Manufacturing of Make in India’ award at the Make in India Awards 2016 function organized in New Delhi on October 18, 2016. The award is recognition of the company's excellent track record and continued efforts to introduce the best-in-class green initiatives in its manufacturing processes.

The company’s sustainability practices encompass its steel works, iron ore mines and collieries, the city of Jamshedpur and its peripheral areas and over 800 villages in the states of Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Tata Steel, the flagship company of the Tata group is the first integrated steel plant in Asia and is now the world’s second most geographically diversified steel producer and a Fortune 500 Company.
