WB Government plans to cover tea workers under MGNREGA

In order to improve the living conditions of workers working in the tea gardens of West Bengal, the Government is planning to bring the state’s impoverished tea gardens workers under the ambit of the 100-days employment guarantee scheme.

The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee stated that the West Bengal government is planning to bring the workers under the MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) which will enable them to get employment under the 100-days' job scheme.
