NTPC has successfully exposed coal in its first coal mine - Pakri Barwadih located in the state of Jharkhand after removal of overburden. The production of coal will begin shortly from this mine.

Recently, the company had received an investment approval for Rojmal Wind Energy Project (50 MW) in the state of Gujarat at an appraised estimated cost of Rs 323.35 crore subject to signing of Power Project Agreement (PPA). The board of directors at its meeting held on November 30, 2016 had approved for the same.

NTPC is an Indian central Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, engaged in the business of generation of electricity and allied activities.
