-60.40 (-5.61%) State Bank of India’s (SBI) largest overseas subsidiary -- Nepal SBI Bank -- has started point-of-sale (POS) services to push digital transactions. This effort will facilitate cashless transactions in Nepal.
Besides, the bank is also in the process of tying up with Nepal Clearing House for bringing other Nepalese banks and financial institutions onto the platform. This collaborative effort would enable customers to enjoy real time or near real time credit of funds from India to their accounts in Nepal.
SBI offers a wide range of services in the Personal Banking, Agriculture/Rural, NRI services, SME and Corporate Banking etc. The Bank reported 34.56% fall in its net profit at Rs 2,538.32 crore for second quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 3879.07 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
