Larsen & Toubro shows its mettle amidst sluggish trade

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is currently trading at Rs 1161.00, up by 13.05 points or 1.14% from its previous closing of Rs 1147.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 1121.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs 1163.00 and Rs 1112.55 respectively. So far 248033 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 1867.85 on 08-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 971.00 on 21-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 1238.00 and Rs 112.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 69752.23 crore.

The Institutions and Non-Institutions holding in the company stood at 51.65% and 45.18% respectively.

Recently company’s business brand-&T Electrical & Automation (E&A) filed more than 100 patent applications for its electrical and automation products during 2011-2012. This is the fifth consecutive year that E&A has achieved this feat and led the march for creation of intellectual property within various group companies of Larsen & Toubro.

E&A filed 162 patents applications along with 16 Trademark applications, 10 Design registrations and 9 Copyrights in 2011-12 which is an improved performance over the previous year. It also filed 10 international Patent applications through PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) during the year. From 1999-2000 to 2011-12, E&A has filed 856 Patent applications, 256 Design registrations, 110 Trademark applications and 20 Copyright applications.
