-7.00 (-0.35%) Bharti Airtel, leading global telecommunications company has launched its 4G services in Bangalore on May 7, 2012. This is the second place, after Kolkata to have the fourth generation broadband wireless services.
Through 4G technology users can access wireless broadband services at 30-40 Mbps speeds compared to 3-4 Mbps on 3G platform. It allows high speed Internet services that include high definition video streaming and instant photo and video downloads.
The company has invested about Rs 10,000 crore for 4G launch in Karnataka alone and will go next to Mangalore and Mysore to launch the services. In Karnataka, the company offers four tariff plans - lowest being Rs 999 a month for 6GB of data, Rs 1,399 a month for 9 GB, Rs 1,999 for 18 GB and Rs 2,999 for 30 GB.
