L&T shines on JV securing large contract from Sadara Chemical Company

L&T is currently trading at Rs. 1159.90, up by 1.50 points or 0.13% from its previous closing of Rs. 1158.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1142.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1187.40 and Rs. 1142.70 respectively. So far 3,43,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1867.85 on 08-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 971.00 on 21-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1214.90 and Rs. 1112.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 71,032.00 crore.

The Institutions and Non-Institutions hold 52.25% and 44.64% respectively.

L&T’s joint venture- Larsen & Toubro ATCO Saudia LLC has secured a large procure and construct contract from Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara), a joint venture of Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and The Dow Chemical Company (Dow). The prestigious contract was won by L&T-ATCO against stiff local and international competition. The project involves procurement and construction of solution polyethylene and specialty Elastomers package in Jubail Industrial City, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, where Sadara is constructing a world scale chemical complex. The project is scheduled to be completed in 35 months.

L&T-ATCO is one among the multiple joint ventures of L&T in the high growth markets of the GCC (Gulf Corporation Council) countries. It offers electro-mechanical construction services in key segments covering Oil & Gas, hydrocarbons, petrochemicals, pipelines, power projects, water and effluent treatment plants.
