Eicher Motors and Volvo Group’s joint venture firm, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has reported 19.8% rise in total sales in January at 4,515 units as compared with 3,768 units in the same period last year. Sales of Eicher-branded trucks and buses also increased 20% to 4,449 units in January compared with 3,707 units in the corresponding month last year.

In the domestic market, sales of Eicher trucks and buses stood at 3,796 units last month compared with 3,415 units in the year ago period, up by 11.2%. Exports of Eicher trucks and buses stood at 653 units in January as against 292 in the same month last year, up by 123.6%.

Volvo trucks sold 66 units last month compared with 61 units in January 2015, up by 8.2%.
