-7.00 (-0.35%) Bharti Airtel, leading global telecommunications company has launched new tariff plans for its 4G users in Kolkata. As per one of the plan, called Breakfree Unlimited, users will pay Rs 2,999 for 30 GB of data usage. After completion of allotted data usage, data speeds will be at 128 kbps.
Both prepaid and postpaid users can avail this offer. While prepaid users need not pay tax, postpaid users will be taxed on their monthly bills. This apart, users will have to purchase separate 4G enabled dongles. A 4G network allow faster download and upload speed for data compared to the existing 2G and 3G networks but calls are not possible on a 4G network, 2G and 3G networks allow both voice and data usage. Postpaid users will be refunded the device or dongle costs in 12 monthly discounts of Rs 666 each.
The Company has posted a fall of 14.34% in its net profit at Rs 1574.30 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 1837.90 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However total income has increased by 10.78% at Rs 10943.50 crore for quarter under review as compared Rs 9878.40 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
