Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has received an approval from US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) -- generic version of Zyprexa -- Olanzapine Tablets USP, 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 15mg and 20mg.

The generic Olanzapine Tablets are therapeutic equivalent of Eli Lilly’s Zyprexa tablets. Olanzapine tablets have annual sale of about $3.3 billion in the US. Olanzapine Tablets are indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar I disorder (manic or mixed episodes).
