-27.95 (-0.72%) L&T Construction, the Engineering Construction and Contracts division of L&T has won new orders worth Rs 744 crore during the first quarter of FY13. The power transmission and distribution IC has secured new orders worth Rs 479 crore from key customers. These include order for electrical, instrumentation and automation works for 4506 cum blast furnace project for NMDC at Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh from Tata Projects.
The company has also secured an order from Power Grid Corporation of India for the construction of 400kv overhead transmission lines from Barh in Bihar to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
In the water and solar business, L&T Construction has secured order valued Rs 265 crore from various customers for the construction of a solar thermal plant at Rajasthan and also an EPC contract for the construction of pumping station and allied works at Botad Branch Canal from Paliyad to Goma in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat.
