486.05 (3.38%) The country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki posted its best ever volume growth to 144,492 units in the domestic market in the month of April, an increase of 23.4% compared with 117,045 vehicles sold in the same period last year. Maruti Suzuki posted double-digit growth of 21.9% for its mini segment vehicles comprising the Alto and WagonR, which otherwise for the most part in FY17 (8 out of 12 months) had seen a decline in sales. The company’s exports, however, fell by a sharp 29.4% to 6,723 units over the last year.
Compared to the previous month of March 2017 the domestic sales were up 12.88%, while exports compared to March 2017 were down by 42%.
Maruti Suzuki India is the largest car manufacturer of the country, it alone makes 1.5 million Maruti Suzuki family cars every year. That’s one car every 12 seconds.
