M&M gains despite reporting 6% fall in April sales

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is currently trading at Rs. 1341.45, up by 6.90 points or 0.52% from its previous closing of Rs. 1334.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1334.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1352.20 and Rs. 1326.50 respectively. So far 36132 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1508.80 on 09-Aug-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1141.80 on 02-Dec-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1363.00 and Rs. 1259.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 83445.54 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 26.69%, while institutions and non-institutions held 57.66% and 15.66% respectively.

M&M has reported its auto sales performance for April 2017 which stood at 39,357 vehicles compared to 41,863 vehicles during April 2016, representing a fall of 5.99%.

The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 19,325 vehicles in April 2017 as against 22,655 vehicles during April 2016. The company’s domestic sales stood at 37,829 vehicles during April 2017, as against 39,357 vehicles during April 2016, a decline of 4%. In April 2017, the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment sold 278 vehicles, registering de-growth of 41%. Moreover, total exports declined 39% for April 2017 and stood at 1,528 vehicles.
