Tata Motors inks pact with Apex Greatest for commercial vehicles sale

Tata Motors, country’s largest car maker has inked pact with Apex Greatest Industrial Company (AGI), Myanmar by signing a distribution agreement for selling its commercial vehicles and passenger cars in the country. The distribution agreement was signed by R T Wasan, Tata Motors Head International Business commercial vehicles and Johnny Oommen on behalf of the company and Chairman of AGI Myanmar.

As per the deal, AGI will deal out trucks assembled at the Magwe facility and also commercial vehicles and passenger cars directly imported from India. Tata Motors in March 2010 had tied knot with state-owned Myanmar Automobile & Diesel Industries (MADI) by signing turnkey contract for setting up a heavy truck assembly plant at Magwe in central Myanmar.

Tata Motors’ global sales for the month of April remained flat at 87,377 units over the same period last year. Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were at 25,143 units during April, up 29% from the same month last year. Of which sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand increased by 17% last month at 3,603 units, Land Rover sales were higher by 32% at 21,540 units.
