17.00 (1.26%) Reliance Industries (RIL) and BP Plc will invest Rs 40,000 crore more in partnership to increase KG-D6 gas output to 30-35 mscmd. Both the entities will develop the R-series deepwater gas field in India as first of three projects. The project is expected to produce 12 million cubic metres of gas per day (mmscmd), coming onstream in 2020.
RIL and BP are partners in oil and gas exploration but have no such collaboration in downstream fuel retailing business.
RIL is India’s largest private sector company. The company’s activities span hydrocarbon exploration and production, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, retail and 4G digital services.
