NTPC has commenced commercial operation of 2nd Unit of 195 MW of Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Station Stage-II (2 X 195 MW) of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam (a subsidiary of NTPC) with effect from July 01, 2017. With this, the commercial capacity of Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Station has become 610 MW and that of NTPC group has become 47,488 MW.

NTPC is the largest power utility company in India with a total installed capacity of 51,635 MW. Company has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
