Mahindra sells 19,016 tractors in May 2012

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a part of the $15.4 billion Mahindra Group, maintained its leadership position in the tractor industry in May 2012. Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) in May 2012 stood at 19016 units, as against 18892 units for the same period last year.

The company’s domestic tractor sales in May 2012 stood at 18019 units, as against 17952 units during May 2011 while, tractor exports for the month of May 2012 stood at 997 units.

M&M’s net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 jumped by 44.18% to Rs 874.48 crore as compared to Rs 606.54 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. The total income has increased by 38.62% to Rs 9482.79 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 6840.85 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
