323.20 (2.04%) In a bid to increase its total capacity to two million units by 2015-16, the country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is planning to establish a new manufacturing facility in Gujarat with an investment of Rs 4,000 crore.
Addition to this, the company had signed state support agreement (SSA) with the Government of Gujarat for purchase of land near Mehsana to set up an all new manufacturing facility. With the help of the said manufacturing facility, the company will generate employment for more than 2,000 people.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has reported 4.98% dip in sales to 98,884 units during May, 2012 as compared to 104,073 units in May last year. The domestic sales were down by 4.3% at 89,478 units in May, compared to 93,519 units in the same month last year while, the exports dropped by 10.9% to 9406 units in May, from 10,554 units in the similar month a year-ago.
