JSW Steel’s crude production rises by 25% on y-o-y basis

JSW Steel, part of JSW Group, has reported the monthly crude steel production of 7.24 lakh tons for May 2012, up by 25% as compared to corresponding month last fiscal.

The steel maker has reported the production of rolled products - flat at 5.12 lakh tons an increase by 31% on year on year basis and that of rolled long products at 1.49 lakh tons, an increase of 27%. The capacity utilization at Vijaynagar works remained at around 80% in May 2012 due to constrains in availability of iron-ore in the Karnataka State.
