19.35 (0.99%) Bharti Airtel has received an approval from shareholders for its scheme of amalgamation with Telenor India. Shareholders representing 99.98% holding voted in favour of the resolution, while a mere 0.02% voted against it.
Earlier in February, both the companies had signed an agreement for merger under which the Sunil Mittal company will acquire Telenor India’s operations in seven circles -- Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, UP (East), UP (West) and Assam.
