-3.55 (-1.08%) Tata Motors has commenced a pilot-run of its 9-meter electric bus at Guwahati in state of Assam. The company has become the first automaker to get Arai and homologation certifications for its 9-meter and 12-meter electric buses.
The company, which bagged an order for 350 units from EESL to supply e-cars earlier this month, signed an agreement with the Assam State Transport Corporation to run 9-meter e-buses that can carry 26-34 passengers. The trial run will last for seven days.
Tata Motors is India's largest automobile company. Through subsidiaries and associate companies, Tata Motors has operations in the UK, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and Indonesia. Among them is Jaguar Land Rover, the business comprising the two iconic British brands.
