Bharti Airtel has launched Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) services across Gujarat. Airtel VoLTE will be available only on 4G LTE enabled mobile devices with the Airtel 4G SIM. The company has made no changes in the tariff plans and will charge the customer based on their base tariff plan for the calls over VoLTE.

Moreover, in limited or no 4G network areas, the user will be able to make normal calls using 3G and 2G networks. This gives Airtel an edge over competitors to use its existing 3G and 2G services.

Airtel VoLTE also allows users to access the internet even while they are on a call. The feature is not available on 3G and 2G networks and, therefore, allows users to stay connected on the go.

Gujarat is the fifth state after Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to roll out VoLTE services, which works over Airtel’s 4G LTE network.
