Shriram Transport Finance rises on inaugurating Automall in Visakhapatnam

Shriram Transport Finance is currently trading at Rs. 527.50, up by 5.30 points or 1.01% from its previous closing of Rs. 522.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 530.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 536.00 and Rs. 525.60 respectively.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 707.85 on 25-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 416.00 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 536.00 and Rs. 510.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 11,937 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 45.64% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.67% and 12.69% respectively.

Shriram Transport Finance Company has opened Shriram Automall in the vicinity of Bheemunipatnam in Visakhapatnam district on June 16, 2012. In the current financial year, the company plans to disburse Rs 21,000 crore towards vehicle finance against Rs 19,000 crore in 2011-12.

The company also finances second-hand commercial vehicles in the country. In 2011-12, the company had financed 6 lakh vehicles old and new and in the current financial year, the number may rise to 6.5 lakh.

The company has posted a fall of 9.56% in its net profit at Rs 308.07 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 340.62 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 7.36% at Rs 1485.46 crore for quarter under review as compared Rs 1383.51 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
